Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve become sick and tired of some people moaning that Arsenal players lack the heart and passion to play for the club. well, to hell with them!
Szczesny played at West Brom even when he possible couldn’t, when his shoulder was in no fit condition for him to take to the field. Is that the position of a man who doesn’t love the club?
Koscielny played every match week in week out even though he had a back problem, and this because Arsenal were experiencing a defensive crisis at that time. Is that the position of a man who doesn’t love the club?
Wilshere has ruled himself out of the Euros so that he may be fit for Arsenal sooner. Is that the position of a man who doesn’t love the club?
I’m just saying, I’ve become disillusioned with so many people claiming that Arsenal players lack the heart and soul to make it in the long run. But when we get proof of so much that the Arsenal player is doing just so he can play for the club and its fans, the fickle-minded Arsenal fans decide to turn a blind eye on all of this.
This isn’t an attack on any particular person or anything. I just want to say that some Arsenal fans need to learn to stick by the team when all isn’t going our way. As John Collard rightly puts it, “it isn’t Arsenal’s divine right to win all the time”. Sometimes, you’re going to be disappointed in the club and all that’s happening with it. But at the end of the day, we need to stand by the club, embrace each other as fellow Gooners, as fellow members of an institution. We need to learn to love Arsenal the right way, by respecting each other, and above all, respecting the club.
